Disappointing figures
I purchased all four of Wave Fives expansion packs and several of these groups have some interesting abilities, such as the Ninja's dodge allowing them to move 4 spaces if they successfully dodge using the d20. My biggest complaint with these figures is the detail. Most of the original miniatures for Heroscape were made of quality plastic and have great detail. All of these miniatures have very minor to little detail and even their faces look somewhat painted on.

This is a trend that Hasbro has going with the heroscape line, now that they have us all suckered in. I've noticed the newer base set tiles and water hexes have less defined edges as well which causes them to not grip as well as the original box set. In fact, mine often stick up a little bit. The sparkly opaque water tiles, never do that and appear to be made of a slightly harder plastic. I was curious why they went away from the opaque sparkly water tiles, but it appears someone had a brilliant suggestion for saving a few pennies for the company...

Regardless, the heroscape game and line is a lot of fun and these figures add some new twists to the battlefield, worthy of a purchase. If your simply collecting and are trying to add quality figures, then this isn't the set for you.
