strategy game - fun for most ages
This is a great strategy game. During different sections of the game there are four different goals you are trying to achieve -- to keep your sheep near each other, to be near the ram at the front of the flock, to be near the black sheep, and to be farthest from the shearer. On your turn, you get to pick from a variety of different moves, such as jumping a sheep to the head of a line, turning all the sheep 90 degrees, moving a row of sheep over to the fence line, etc. You are only allowed to use each type of move a certain number of times -- so don't waste a move that might do you more good later. It is, of course, complicated by the other players who can also move not only their pieces, but also yours. Suitable for a wide age range of players to play together. And, to top it off, it's SOOOO cute. But don't let the cuteness throw you, this is a really great strategy game. Great for adults, children (8 & over), or both together. Highly recommended.
Lots of fun!
This is a fabulous board game. It is non-traditional in various ways, but it is still a lot of fun. The sheep are beautiful (actually maybe a little too much... we are worried that they might break) and the dynamics of the game are engaging. There is a nice amount of thinking and strategy going on, which makes it even better.
Cute but complicated
Its very cute, and that is why I bought it. But it seems a bit complicated to play. Lots of instructions, haven't made it though one game yet...;) It could probably be a bit more intuitive.
